Ram-Page is the Humphrey Writing Center’s first human rights magazine established not only to showcase proud pieces of writing but also to serve as a platform for BOTH beginning AND veteran writers. It is a place for growth, experiment, learning, and sharing valuable opinions without any constraints or subjective judgments of abilities. November’s theme will be “the power of words”, since verbal exchanges between nations, cultures, and beliefs are being plagued by the misuse of such or healed by selfless decisions and providing voices in different mediums.

Every contributed piece will be displayed in the magazine. After all, Ram-Page was created to give a voice to the entirety of the school population. It could be any of the below:

  • A simple opinion on an issue pertained to the topic (longer than 3 lines)
  • A poem
  • A photo
  • A short story
  • An essay
  • An article (written or found – min. 3 lines explaining the reason why this was meaningful to you)
  • Review of book, etc.
  • A quote from someone else or your own
  • A drawing
  • Something else! Be creative!

It can be something that you have written for class, a link to something great that you have read online or offline, a first draft, a few lines of jotted thoughts that popped into your mind, something that someone said that stayed in your mind – anything. There are no limitations or exclusions; this is a forum for displaying everyone’s strengths. Do not be worried about the quality of your piece and submit! You can submit at any time before the deadline by emailing me the documents/photos/etc at carolinelee@thehill.org
